Travel Journal: Byron Bay

I recently made my way down to Byron Bay, it was the first time I have left Queensland so I had an amazing time! We avoided the highway as much as we could and headed south through many cute little towns. Enjoy these photos of my trip 🙂

The first stop we made was in Kingscliffe where I saw these awesome old VW’s!! There was a surfing event on at the time as well so we stayed for a short while to watch.

Then we drove through Cabarita beach and had kebabs at Cabarita Kebabs.

We then ended up in a town called Wooyung and were driving along Wooyung Road heading South West from Pottsville when we saw a cute roadside stall. I decided to try the dried fruit, I got some Dragon fruit roll ups and a fruit salad mix and considering I don’t like any of these fruits normally I was very pleasantly surprised with how good it was!

And finally we arrived at Byron bay!!!

I just HAD to do some shopping down in Byron since it was my first time down there I couldn’t leave empty handed. Click here to check out my Byron Bay Haul!

We also stopped for Ice Cream at In The Pink Gelati and they had so many yummy flavours to choose from, I got Forrero Rocher and Belgian Chocolate!

We also went and had a look at Cape Byron Lighthouse but it was absolutely packed and we couldn’t find a park anywhere! It was also $8 to park anywhere near the lighthouse which was a bit steep.

Fun fact: Cape Byron Lighthouse is the most easterly part of Australia and is closest to New Zealand.

Then as we were heading back towards the Gold Coast along the Tourist Drive between Murwillumbah and Nerang we spotted another cute roadside stall and stopped to get some lemons and banana muffins which were baked fresh that day and were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

So there you have it! That was my first adventure outside of Queensland! 🙂
